Why “Penguin In Flight”? The image of a penguin flying has often symbolized the impossible dream. Yet the potential is there. The penguins may not wish to fly. They may have already tried that and decided that swimming is much more fun, I don’t know. But the potential is there and if the penguin’s dream were to fly and this dream was formed with intention and detail that would make High-Definition pale, then in generations down the road, the penguin would fly.
My dream is that the people of this world learn to live in peace. That we as a community of beings evolve past our destructive, competitive ways and learn to live an existence that is nurturing, supportive, creative, joyful, and in harmony with the nature of the world we live on and in.
How does this dream become tangible???
I am a full time instructor of Aikido, a martial art, born in a violent time of our history. This art has evolved to become “The Art of Peace”. Through the practice of this art we learn to blend with conflicts, to hone our character, face our ego, to see our true nature and place in the world, to become gardeners of life.
I use this art and its basic philosophy while facilitating learning opportunities in leadership, conflict management, team building, communications, relationship building, centering, potential reaching, and creative problem solving. I present these trainings for individuals, small and large groups, non-profits, schools, corporations, and for mental health programs. These trainings are experiential and somatic in format.
